Home Inspections
Walk Through/Preliminary
Hiring us to do a 'walk through' or preliminary buyers' inspection, is the simplest and most inexpensive way to see if the property is worth buying.
It involves a verbal interview with the home buyer and an in-depth walk-through of the property. This gives the client the information they need to make a decision to purchase the home or not. It is the same as the standard inspection with-out fabricating a written report, which is required to motivate a seller to make adjustments to the price.
Standard Inspection
In our standard home inspection, it is a non-invasive examination of the condition of a home and is best conducted by a Professional Certified Home Inspector.
The best way to understand the true cost of purchasing a property is to ensure that there is a professional property inspection report. After conducting a preliminary inspection, the inspector prepares and delivers to the client a written report of findings. This provides a buyer (or seller) with valuable insight into the property's current conditions. The client can then use the knowledge gained to make informed decisions about their pending real estate purchase.
Energy Audit Services
General Audit/Mini Audit
The general audit starts with an inspection of any combustion equipment before conducting a blower door test. The blower door test is an ingenious way to assess the 'leakiness' of a home and when coupled with infrared cameras and other tools it can lead to pinpointing possible causes to heating and cooling loss
in a home. Usually this is enough information to recommend air-sealing and insulation work to improve energy efficiency in the home
Investment Grade Audit
The comprehensive grade audit expands on the detailed audit described above and relies on collecting information about home operation and appliance use, we can develop a detailed evaluation of energy conservation measures on the site. Utility bills are collected for an extended time period to allow the auditor to evaluate the property's energy demand, rate structures and energy usage profiles.
With an attentive and planned assessment, an Energy Auditor can spot many problems that cause energy losses and make decisions about possible energy efficiency upgrades. During a home energy audit, it is important to have a checklist of areas that were inspected as well as problems identified. Once the audit is complete, a plan for suggested actions can be developed.
Further Assessments We Offer
Radon Testing
Installation of monitoring equipment for a comprehensive Radon test can be helpful to ensure safety in your home. According to the CDC, Radon is an odorless, invisible, radioactive gas naturally released from rocks, soil, and water.
Radon can get into homes and buildings through small cracks or holes and build up in the air. Over time, breathing in high levels of radon can lead to lung cancer.
New-construction blower door testing
In Minnesota, blower door tests are often required in order for a certificate of occupancy to be issued. We can schedule and perform these tests with little notice in order to elevate these issues and get you into your new home.
